10-hour Childbirth 101 education course


You have choices in childbirth- learn everything you'll need to know so you'll be well prepared to face the challenge of birthing in order to have your best possible outcome in your chosen setting. This course is designed for the expectant mother and her birth partner, to prepare them both for their roles in birthing and early parenting and recovery. In this course, taught by Childbirth Educator Krystel Lea, you will learn about:

  • The stages of labour
  • Tried-and-True labour coping techniques
  • The role of the birth partner
  • What is a birth plan, and do you want one?
  • What to anticipate in hospital/birth centre/home setting
  • What items to prepare/pack
  • Readying your home for the postnatal mother & child
  • What is a doula and how can one help you?
  • Care of the postnatal mother and recovery from birth
  • Basics of breastfeeding 
  • Baby care, and bonding with baby
